Rig Manager

The Rig Manager manages all the activities of the rig crew and equipment and keeps the rig performing at a high standard. They are the leader, trainer, teacher, sales person, and manager. Duties include being a liaison between Victory Well Servicing and the oil company, ensuring proper and timely maintenance of equipment, and providing clear and concise directions to rig crew members. The Rig Manager is also responsible for ensuring all crew members receive proper orientation, plus ongoing training and monitoring to ensure compliance with safe work practices and procedures. Overall, the Rig Manager plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

 

The ideal person for this position is someone with experience in rig management and who has strong leadership and communication skills. They should have a deep understanding of safety regulations and standards and be able to ensure compliance throughout the crew. They should also be able to effectively manage a team with clear guidance and by leading by example. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records. Overall, the Rig Manager should be a strong communicator and leader, have strong client relation skills, and be someone who puts a focus on safety, compliance, and productivity.

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Manages all the activities on location pertaining to the rig crew and rig equipment.

  • Organizes the moving of the rig and equipment.

  • Hiring of team members as needed

 

Communication and Documentation

  • Is a liaison between Victory Well Servicing Ltd. and the oil company representative and communicates to determine the course of action on the well.

  • Ensures all crew members receive proper orientation and continuous training.

  • Assigns work duties to the rig crew members providing them with clear concise directions.

  • Keeps all required daily electronic tour reports and paperwork documentation and certification up to date on a daily and monthly basis.

 

Safety and Maintenance

  • Ensures proper and timely maintenance of equipment.

  • Monitors the work being carried out by the crew to ensure they are following all safe work practices and procedures.

  • Reports all incidents involving loss or critical incidents to management immediately, including completely required paperwork.

  • Holds and provides guidance to the daily safety meetings

  • Ensures compliance with government, oil company and Victory Well Servicing Ltd. regulations, policies and standards.

 

Additional Job Details:

  • Education or Training Required: 

    • BOP ticket 

    • Commercial driver’s licence (class 1 or 3) would be preferred

  • Years of Experience Required: 2+ years in the Rig Manager experience

  • Location of Position: West Texas 

  • Working Conditions:

    • Travel Requirements: must have a valid passport with the ability to obtain a work visa. Victory Well Servicing will assist with and pay for the visa application. Victory Well Servicing will cover flights to and from the work site for the on-shift days.   

    • Housing: accommodations and meals while on shift are paid for.

      • Subsistence pay is provided for local residents (days worked). 

    • Shift Schedule: 20 days on and 10 days off, 12 hours per day 

    • Company will cover the cost to import vehicles out of the country that can be used on the work site.

    • PPE is provided
