A Day (or Night) in the Life: What It’s Like to Work at Victory Well Servicing

Updated: Aug 5

Working on a rig isn’t for everyone. It’s demanding, fast-paced, and requires focus, grit, and trust. But for those who thrive in hands-on environments, there’s nothing more rewarding than being part of a high-performance crew, especially one that’s built like Victory.

Whether the sun’s just rising or the stars are out, Victory Well Servicing crews show up ready. With consistent teams, state-of-the-art equipment, and a safety-first culture, we deliver around-the-clock well servicing that keeps operations running and careers moving forward.

Here’s what a typical shift looks like for our crews in the field.

Shift Start: Safety Is the First Priority

No matter what time of day your shift begins, it always starts the same way: with safety.

Each crew gathers for a comprehensive safety briefing, reviewing current job hazards, site conditions, and operational plans. After that, the incoming crew holds a cross-shift review with the outgoing team to discuss progress, issues, and any handover notes.

Then it’s time for a complete equipment inspection. From pumps to swivels, every piece of gear is checked and ready to perform—because when you work in high-stakes environments, there’s no room for guesswork.

At Victory, safety isn’t just a box to check. It’s built into everything we do.

Consistency in Crews = Stronger Teams

Once the shift begins, you’ll work alongside the same five crew members you’ve been rotating with all week. Our crews of six stay together on the same rig and equipment for the entire 20-day rotation.

This consistency builds trust, rhythm, and better communication on-site. Each person knows their role, understands their rig, and looks out for their teammates. It’s the kind of bond that only forms when people are set up to succeed together, not shuffled from site to site.

Hands-On, High-Skill Work

Depending on the project, your crew might be completing a drill-out, clean-out, or complex workover. Every job is different, but the expectations are the same: high standards, precision execution, and safe performance.

No matter your role—Greenhand, Derrickhand, Driller, or Rig Manager—you’re part of something essential. The work is physical, technical, and fast-moving, and you’ll finish each shift knowing exactly what you accomplished. And if you're just starting out, our 90-day Greenhand assessment program helps you gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to grow in the field.

Real-Time Tech Keeps Everyone Connected

We use mobile workforce systems to track jobs, share updates, and keep everyone aligned, from the field to leadership to our customers.

It’s more than a time-saver. It creates visibility, accountability, and better communication across the board, making sure the right people have the right information when they need it.

Rest, Fuel, and On-Site Support

After your shift wraps, rest is essential. That’s why we provide paid accommodations and meals during your entire rotation, so you can recover and recharge properly.

We also offer fly-in/fly-out travel options for our West Texas operations, taking the hassle out of logistics and helping you maintain work-life balance, even with a 24/7 operation.

Around-the-Clock Operations, Year-Round Stability

Our rigs operate day and night, with seamless crew changes to maintain uninterrupted coverage. The 20/10 rotation model gives you structure, routine, and a full 10 days off between hitches.

You can count on year-round work and consistent pay, even during slower seasons, because we believe stability is just as important as opportunity.

What It Means to Be Part of the Victory Team

At Victory, we don’t just fill roles, we build careers. Our people stay because they’re treated with respect, offered chances to grow, and surrounded by others who take pride in the work they do.

Here’s what else you can expect:

  • Top-tier compensation and full benefits

  • Ongoing training and development opportunities

  • A company that puts safety first—always
