On a Victory rig, career progression isn’t left to chance. Every crew member has a role, a plan, and a leader who’s invested in their success.

Assistant Rig Managers oversee the crew, keep operations running safely, and provide real-time feedback to help new team members learn the ropes. Drillers shadow Rig Managers, gaining leadership experience and operational insight. Derrickhands are coached to be ready for the next opportunity, building the technical and decision-making skills they’ll need to one day lead a crew of their own.

This continuous learning keeps the crew sharp and ensures that when opportunities open up, our people are already prepared to step in. 

A Clear Path Forward

Greenhand The starting point for every new hire. Greenhands learn safety, teamwork, and the fundamentals of rig operations through our structured 90-day assessment program. 

Floorhand Once the basics are mastered, Floorhands take on more responsibility, working hands-on with rig equipment and supporting Drillers and Rig Managers in daily operations. 

Derrickhand The next level of expertise. Derrickhands handle critical pumping systems, manage fluids, and work high in the derrick. They are trained for precision and always ready for the next opportunity. 

Driller Drillers lead the crew in action. They control the rig, guide operations, and ensure safety and performance on every shift. 

Rig Manager Rig Managers oversee it all — operations, people, and safety. They are responsible for ensuring that every project runs efficiently, safely, and up to Victory standards.

Mentorship You Can Count On

Consistent crews make that mentorship stronger. Working with the same group for each rotation builds trust, communication, and rhythm on the rig. Assistant Rig Managers and Drillers take time to coach and share their knowledge, helping others gain confidence and readiness for their next role.
